Nursery Progress

The nursery is almost done; we are just waiting on the curtains and I need to hang up lots of pictures and artwork. We wanted to go with green walls and accents of purple and I had to include some black & white too, as it is my favorite decorating theme! We didnt want too much pink, as we knew we would get tons of pink toys, clothes and accessories. Tim did all the painting and built the bookshelf himself too! I think it turned out great! He also re-finished the dresser, put up all new crown molding and added new drawer pulls to it and the crib and closet doors to match. I really cannot wait until we get the curtains up, but I had some disappointing news. I have been waiting for the curtains that match the bedding since December 6th (they are purple paisley/damask), but I just found out that they have pushed the backorder date even further back, now I wont see them til late February or early March, so I am thinking of going to Pier 1 this weekend and trying to find some new curtains. I am thinking white eyelet, but not sure if I have too much white already...dilemmas, dilemmas. I think I just need to get some pictures and art on the walls and everything will look complete!

Here is the chandelier we got from Ikea to add some glamour!

This is the bookshelf that Tim built! So handy.

Upclose shot of one of my favorite pictures of all time. I am also thinking of adding a B & W image of marilyn monroe or audrey hepburn. (I have basiclaly thrown a theme out the window for the room and just filling it with everything I like)

Here is the glider Mrs. Driscoll got for us! And there is Ellie, my stuffed elephant that I have had since I was 4

This is the crib/changing table combo we got. I love it and all the storage it has, especially b/c the closet in the nursery only has enough space for our clothes (Gotta love these old Newport homes with NO closetspace!)

A CUTE sign we got at the shower..I love it!

Here is the dresser that Tim re-finished..what a great job!

Finally, here is the mirror we just added a ribbon bow to...just need to get it up on the wall. I found one just like this is Target and they wanted $70!! We got the mirror for free and the ribbon was $2.97! What a steal.

So, here are both curtain options and I need some input! The purple ones I have already ordered and are on back order til end Feb. The other ones are simple white eyelet that i can have shipped asap, but I am not sure if that will be too much white in the room..Help me decide and leave a comment!
